Gameplay Hub

This hub collects every Island Beekeeper systems guide after the July 28, 2026 Steam launch. Use it when the PC navigation dropdown hits its eight-item limit, or when you want a single map of bees, travel, food, and exploration loops.

Core Apiary Loop

Start here if you are still learning how honey reaches Earth.

  • Bees & Hybrids — Catch queens, place hives, and unlock hybrid traits.
  • Honey Production — Frames, smoker, extractor, jars, and shipment prep.
  • Bee Breeding — Crossbreeding depth, rare queens, and automation helpers.
  • Medocycle — Honey-fueled Travel Mode and Flight Mode between islands.

Food, Crafting & Survival

Keep meters full while you expand the island.

  • Farming & Crops — Flowers for bees, food crops, watering, and garden beds.
  • Cooking & Food — Kitchen recipes, bread, mead, sandwiches, and order dishes.
  • Crafting & Building — Workbench, blueprints, glass, foundations, and stations.
  • Survival — Health, hunger, thirst, sleep, cold, lava, and Unstuck.
  • Fishing — Fishing rod, minigame, Fish Shelf, and expanded fish lists after 1.01.1.
  • Potions & Tea — Buff potions, Swamp Honey recipes, tea, and cold resistance.

Multiplayer

  • Co-op Mode — Local split-screen for 1–4 players, roles, and shared progression.

How These Systems Connect

A healthy session usually cycles through the same rhythm:

  1. Water crops and tend hives near flowers.
  2. Extract honey into jars; route some jars to the kitchen or potion bench.
  3. Fill Earth orders at the Post Station.
  4. Spend surplus honey fueling the Medocycle toward new islands.
  5. Bring back rare bees, seeds, fish, or tea leaves that unlock the next craft tier.

Post-launch patches 1.01.1 and 1.01.2 touched fishing timers, potion outputs, tea cold resistance, bee automation, and several hive placements — check Updates and Troubleshooting if a system behaves differently than this hub describes.

New Player Path

  1. Beginner’s Guide → first hive and bed
  2. Honey Production → first jar
  3. Orders & Reputation → Post Station deliveries
  4. Islands & Biomes → Farest, Swamp, Volcanic routes
  5. Fishing and Potions & Tea → mid-game buffs

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Where should I start in the Gameplay section?

Read Bees & Hybrids and Honey Production first — they cover the core loop. Then open Fishing and Potions once you leave the starter island.

Is fishing required to finish the game?

No. Fishing expands food variety, Fish Shelf storage, and some mid-game recipes, but honey shipments remain the main progression path.

Where do potions and tea fit in?

Potions use honey varieties (including Swamp Honey) for buffs. Tea brewed from tea leaves in a barrel extends cold resistance on snowy islands.

Why does the Gameplay menu say View all?

Gameplay has more than eight guides. The dropdown shows the top items; this hub lists every system page so nothing is buried.
