The orders system is your lifeline to Earth and the primary driver of progression in Island Beekeeper. Every jar of honey you ship, every seed packet you prepare, and every baked good you craft feeds into a reputation ladder that unlocks new islands, recipes, and crafting capabilities. This guide covers every order type, the reputation system, and strategies for climbing the ranks efficiently.

The Post Station

The post station is the structure that connects your floating island to Earth. You build it from the workbench once you have produced your first honey jars, and it serves as the hub for accepting, tracking, and fulfilling orders.

Building Your Post Station

Craft the post station blueprint at the workbench. The recipe requires wood, stone, iron ore, and glass — materials you should have by the time your first hive is producing honeycomb. Place the post station somewhere accessible, as you will visit it frequently.

You can build additional post stations on other islands you unlock. Having a satellite post station on a distant island lets you ship items directly from that location without carrying them back to your home base first.

How Orders Work

Interact with the post station to view available orders. Each order specifies:

• Items required — what you need to ship (honey jars, seeds, baked goods, etc.)
• Quantity — how many of each item
• Deadline — how many in-game days you have to complete the order
• Reputation reward — how much reputation you earn upon successful delivery

Accept an order to add it to your active order list. Gather or produce the requested items, then return to the post station to ship them via automated drones. The drones have a cooldown between flights, so plan your shipments to avoid idle time.

Order Types

Island Beekeeper features six distinct order categories, each testing different aspects of your island operation.

Classic Honey Orders

The bread and butter of early-game income. These orders request jars of standard honey produced by your meadow bees. They are straightforward — produce honey, fill jars, ship them. Classic honey orders are available from the start and form the foundation of your reputation building.

As your reputation grows, classic honey orders increase in volume. What starts as a simple three-jar order might become a ten-jar bulk shipment that pays proportionally more.

Sky Flower Seed Orders

These orders require you to collect and package seeds from flowering plants across the islands. Different biomes produce different seed types, making island exploration essential. The starting island offers basic white flower and flax seeds, while distant islands have rarer varieties.

Keep a seed stockpile as you explore. When a sky flower seed order arrives, you want to have the seeds ready rather than making a special expedition to collect them.

Baked Goods Orders

Unlocked as you progress and gain access to kitchen stations. Baked goods require processed ingredients — flour from grain, honey for sweetness, and sometimes fruits like strawberries or raspberries. These orders command higher prices than raw honey shipments.

The production chain for baked goods is longer: grow crops → harvest → process at kitchen → package → ship. Plan ahead so you have ingredients ready when these orders appear.

New Honey Variety Orders

Premium requests for specialty honeys produced by specific bee species. Forest honey, tropical honey, and alpine honey each have different values and require different apiary setups. These orders are where bee breeding pays off — having diverse bee colonies lets you fulfill specialty orders without scrambling.

Specialty Seed Orders

These push you to explore every corner of the archipelago. Specialty seeds only grow in specific biomes, so you need to maintain farms across multiple islands. The reward is significant reputation and currency.

Among the most challenging orders. These require you to capture specific creatures using your bug net. Some creatures only appear in certain biomes or during specific game cycles, making timing and location critical.

Reputation System

How Reputation Works

Every completed order earns reputation points. The amount varies based on order difficulty, item value, and delivery speed. Reputation is the primary measure of your standing in the Beekeeper Program and directly controls what content you unlock.

The Five Ranks

Apprentice — Your starting rank. Access to basic orders, the starting island, and fundamental crafting recipes. Focus on learning the mechanics and building a sustainable honey pipeline.

Journeyman — Unlocks after consistent order fulfillment. New travel routes open at the Meadow Cycle Station, granting access to the Farest Island and its forest bee queens. More complex order types begin appearing.

Artisan — The mid-game milestone. Access to specialty crafting stations, advanced breeding techniques for hybrid bees, and premium order categories. Your island network should be well-established.

Expert — Opens the most distant islands and rarest bee species. Orders require sophisticated production chains spanning multiple biomes. The crafting recipes at this tier are among the most powerful.

Master Beekeeper — The highest rank and endgame goal. Full access to every island, bee species, and crafting recipe. Orders become demanding but extremely rewarding. This rank also unlocks the final chapters of the disappeared beekeepers’ story.

Tips for Climbing Reputation

• Complete every order you accept. Failed deliveries hurt more than skipping an order.
• Prioritize orders that offer bonus reputation for speed.
• Diversify your production to accept a wider range of orders.
• Explore new islands as soon as they unlock to access higher-value resources.
• Breed hybrid bees to produce the specialty honeys that command top reputation rewards.

Order Efficiency Strategies

Batch Production

Instead of fulfilling orders one at a time, stockpile a variety of products and fulfill multiple orders in a single post station visit. This reduces back-and-forth travel and keeps your production lines flowing.

Garden Flexibility

If current orders favor a specific honey type, adjust your flower garden ratio to produce more of that variety. Garden flexibility is a competitive advantage.

Storage Infrastructure

Build dedicated storage near your post station. Organize chests by product type: one for honey jars, one for seeds, one for baked goods, one for raw materials. Quick access to stored products makes order fulfillment faster.

Drone Queue Management

Drones have a cooldown between flights. Plan your shipments so you are never waiting idle. If you have multiple orders ready, ship them in rapid succession to maximize drone utilization.
